The upcoming charity auction will support families with children undergoing cancer treatment.

Barry Plant has announced that their Craigieburn outpost will participate in an auction to be held on 14 September 2024, in benefit of the volunteer-led children’s cancer charity, My Room.

The five-bedroom property at 15 Marjoram Street in Mickleham’s Botanical Estate was donated for auction by land developers Satterley and Henley, with Barry Plant Craigieburn’s auctioneer Romi Sleiman set to handle the live sale on the day of the event.

All proceeds for the auction will be donated to My Room, with the charity using the proceeds to “support families with children undergoing cancer treatment” and to fund the purchase of “medical equipment, clinical care, research and clinical trials”.

With Barry Plant’s North Melbourne offices having participated in charity auctions that put property to a good cause for the past seven years, Sleiman said the brand had a longstanding commitment to using its services to back to its community.

“It’s truly rewarding to be part of such a significant event, knowing we are making a difference in such a life-changing way,” he said.

The network highlighted that the Botanical Estate, developed by Satterley and Henley, offers “convenient connectivity to the Melbourne CBD and nearby amenities” and will also be home to its own future shopping village and sports oval.

Sleiman relayed that the area’s community has “come together in support of the auction”, with residents and local businesses volunteering their “time and resources to prepare the home for sale”.

The auctioneer further highlighted that there had been “extensive media coverage” around the event, and forecast a “strong turnout” and “vibrant auction day”.

“Even with current market fluctuations, we’re confident in the property’s appeal and hope to exceed expectations in fundraising for My Room Children’s Cancer Charity,” Sleiman said.

“People tend to dig a little deeper when they know it’s going to a good cause,” he added.
