The agency believes the new appointment will help hone its focus on some of the eastern suburbs’ most exclusive properties.
William Manning, a prestige agent with a 28-year real estate career, has returned to McGrath Double Bay.
“The opportunity arose to build a very strong team and join McGrath Double Bay under the leadership of two highly esteemed operators in Craig Pontey and Michael Finger, both of whom have outstanding credibility and longevity in the top end of the prestige sector over many years,” Manning said.
Joining Manning at McGrath Double Bay is Luke Hogan, who has also recently been appointed to the agency.
Sharing that he has had “an extensive working relationship previously” with Hogan, Manning noted that the duo “have complementary skills, energy, and our commitment to client focus will offer an added advantage to both our vendors and our buyers in the prestige sector”.
For principals Craig Pontey and Michael Finger, the past year has been intensively focused on building a quality team.
“Over the past 12 months, Michael and I have taken the time to recruit a team that has a synergistic view of dealing with vendors to achieve the best outcome for their properties,” said Pontey.
“Experience, energy, commitment and superior negotiation skills in a collaborative environment have been paramount in our recruitment process,” he said.
With recent sales in the $20–30 million range, Manning and Hogan feel confident that the high-end eastern suburbs property market still has plenty of momentum.
“The top end continues to show strength as evidenced by the recent sale in Bellevue Hill for ‘Alcooringa’ for circa $80 million to an expat returning to Australia,” Manning said.
“We are working with a number of buyers in the ultra-high-net-worth sector in the $50–200 million range.”
McGrath CEO John McGrath vouched his support for Manning’s appointment, describing him as “undoubtedly one of the most talented prestige property agents I’ve worked with in 40 years”.
“With our recent partnership with Knight Frank connecting us to the best high-net-worth buyers in the world, it’s the perfect time for us to reunite and rejoin forces,” McGrath said.
