The Gold Coast-based luxury real estate agency has added to its leadership team.

Ben Summons will step into the role of chief operating officer at Kollosche, moving into real estate from a 25-year background in the food and beverage industry.

Summons began his career in a media buying agency, before moving into a role in market intelligence at Carlton & United Breweries – a position he described as “every young man’s dream job”.

Transitioning into brand management with the brewery, he credited the experience at one of Australia’s most beloved beverage providers for teaching him how to “think holistically about all the different moving parts that influence a business and all the different departments I needed to work with”.

A stint as “head of chocolate” for south-east Asia at food company Mondelez (formerly Kraft), saw him relocate to Malaysia, before returning home to take the reins at Byron Bay brewing company Stone & Wood.

Now, following several years focusing on his executive coaching business, Summons is reportedly excited to transition into real estate, working with industry veteran Michael Kollosche to grow the luxury brand.

According to Summons, it was the opportunity to work with the founder of the eponymous agency, coupled with the company culture, that drew him to the role.

“Michael [Kollosche] has an outstanding reputation as an industry leader and as a person, with strong values, vision and a big heart.

“I love to work in places with those kinds of foundations. There’s positive energy here and good people, and I will be working with everyone across the business to help drive it forwards,” Summons said.

At Kollosche, Summons will oversee the long-term growth and development of the business and its people, while working to make operations more efficient and cultivating avenues for progression and innovation among staff.

It’s this latter task, working with the Kollosche team, that Summons believes will be integral to the company’s ability to grow.

“Throughout my career I have worked with people from diverse backgrounds, and I know how to engage and motivate them to work towards a common vision. When people feel engaged and committed is when a business operates at its best.”

“Kollosche is an exciting, strong and innovative business, with lots of opportunity, and I feel I can really help to strengthen that and drive the business towards an even better future,” he added.
