A Queensland agency has moved into its new office following an extensive renovation.

Celebrating with an event to commemorate the office’s opening, RE/MAX Living Woodford led by owner and broker, Kathy Sweeney, has officially opened its doors.

RE/MAX Living launched its second outpost in Woodford three years ago, but after quickly outgrowing its original space, Sweeney successfully acquired a new property at auction last December.

“We really outgrew our previous space, and it’s important to create a welcoming, open and transparent space for both our clients and my team,” explained Sweeney.

Sweeney shared she had already been searching for a suitable space to purchase for several years, and remarked that even upon finding the building wasn’t initially zoned for commercial use, she could see the potential for creating the space that RE/MAX Living represents and ran the risk.

After a lengthy rezoning process, the revamp of the almost 70-year-old property began in June of last year, with Sweeney setting out to preserve the “character of the property” while infusing the agency’s unique style to create a functional space for the team and clients.

“It’s important that my staff work in a beautiful environment and I didn’t want to spare any expense to achieve that. I have a great team and it’s important to me to look after them, ensuring they’re comfortable it’s their place of work after all,” she said.

With the agency’s fitout being designed by local resident Lucy Young marking her third office design for Sweeney RE/MAX highlighted that the designer sought to maintain a continuity of styling and layout between RE/MAX Living’s Woodford and Burpengary outposts.

“Lucy knows me very well, she knows what I like and how I wanted the space to feel to others. It’s wonderful to be able to trust someone who understands me and my vision for the space and be able to execute it so well,” said Sweeney.

While the Woodford team has enjoyed the new office, Sweeney said there are still finishing touches to be made and emphasised that purchasing the property, instead of leasing it, has enabled her to “guarantee the longevity and stability of RE/MAX Living in Woodford”.

“It’s been a long process but we’re thrilled with the outcome and it’s great to bring a fresh and new look in Woodford,” she concluded.

This expansion follows the recent relocation of RE/MAX Property Centre into its newly renovated Broadbeach office.
