Board members of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) voted to keep Caine in the role, as well as several other professionals who were nominated to continue their work.
On the event of his reappointment, Caine said he was thrilled to continue the work he had started and keen to “build on the foundations of his first term, which saw REIV appoint its first female CEO, Kelly Ryan, acquire new facilities and launch vital communication tools and resources such as an integrated AI website and podcast”.
“I’m honoured to have the opportunity to continue as president of the REIV. It’s a time of transition and growth in the real estate industry and as the sector’s peak body, the REIV has a pivotal role to play in representing the needs and interests of all participants,” Caine said.
During his first stint as president, Caine, who is also the CEO of Ray White CRE, was responsible for overseeing a period of transformation involved executive appointments, plans for a relocation and the restructuring of its membership proposition.
“2025 will continue to see the evolution of the REIV as the institute moves into its new home, expands and modernises its professional development and training curriculum, launches a new membership model, and expands its consultation and advice to the government and opposition on key policy initiatives,” he said.
In addition to Caine’s appointment, the board also elected to reappoint Sam Hatzistamatis, head of property management operations at Besser & Co, as senior vice president; and Darren Pearce, head of property Management at RT Edgar Toorak, as vice president.
In addition, Anthony Molinaro, licensed estate agent and auctioneer from O’Brien Real Estate Blackburn, and Damian Portaro, managing director of Ray White Mildura, were elected as board directors. Past president Joseph Walton, a director of Allard Shelton, was also welcomed back to the board.
Concluding their time serving on the organisation’s board were Renee Reynolds of Jellis Craig Geelong and Richard Simpson, a two-time past president and director of W.B. Simpson & Son.
