A Hunters Hill principal has harnessed her connections with local and international buyers to achieve an impressive start to her business.
Over the course of her first 13 weeks in operation as Raine & Horne Hunters Hill, Emma Parsons Challen was able to sell five houses in less than 27 days each, recording a median sale price of $2,930,000 across the Hunters Hill region and surrounding suburbs.
That brought the total value of properties she sold in roughly the first three months as a business principal to $15 million.
As a longtime local, she had confidence when going into business with Raine & Horne that the area would support her ambitions to achieve sales at this pace.
“I have full faith in the property market in the Hunters Hill region. It’s a highly sought-after area with its beautiful homes, great schools, and fantastic lifestyle options. There will always be interest from buyers both local and international looking to secure their dream home here,” she shared.
But even with natural interest in the area, Parsons Challen emphasised that an immense amount of work went into closing those deals.
“Lots of behind-the-scenes preparation went into each property. That and lots of follow up, lots of weighing up comparables, lots of conversations with multiple family members, including some tough conversations and last-minute deals,” she told REB.
On top of these tried and true strategies of local knowledge coupled with hard work, Parsons Challen brings something unique to her work in the area as well. Though a lifetime local, the real estate professional spent some time away from Australia, living and working in Beijing, where she not only became fluent in Mandarin, but also developed what she described as “a deep insight into Chinese culture and how people think, communicate and, importantly, negotiate”.
In celebrating her recent sales, the network with which she has aligned emphasised this skill as setting her apart from competition, noting that Parsons Challen’s bilingual proficiency has significantly helped the principal to deliver outcomes for her network of local and international clients.
“I can communicate effectively in Mandarin and am always available for conversation with an overseas buyer over the phone or on a variety of online platforms, often at irregular hours to accommodate their time zone,” Parsons Challen noted.
As a result of her ability to cater to the schedules of her international clientele, Parsons Challen was notably able to sell a single-level brick residence in Hunters Hill to an overseas buyer for $4.05 million after only 21 days on the market.
Commenting on the principal’s achievements, executive chairman at Raine & Horne, Angus Raine, applauded Parsons Challen for her recent successes and her personalised approach to real estate.
“We are extremely proud of Emma’s remarkable sales success since joining Raine & Horne. Her strong connections within the community and internationally have helped her achieve extraordinary results for our clients,” he said.
Weighing in on what lies ahead for the local market, Parsons Challen noted “significant demand for homes priced in the mid-to-high $2 millions”, which she’ll be focusing on as a submarket as she works to solidify her business as an “integral part of the local real estate scene”.
Personally, she shared she’s not all business focused, but looking forward to spending some quality time with her family and enjoying her passion for Pilates in the months ahead.
