Industry-level real estate agent Ben Stevens has been appointed the new chair of Professionals Group Australia, with instructions to “transform the brand”.

At 38 years old, Ben Stevens becomes the youngest appointee to the role of new chair of Professionals after a meteoric 10-year career. His experience includes three years as a board director with the network as well as leading the Professionals Group’s NSW office, Professionals Bathurst.

He began his real estate career with Professionals Bathurst in 2014 before he acquired the business two years later.

Katherine Gonzalez-Cork, Professionals’ chief executive officer, was enthusiastic to announce Stevens’ appointment during the Professionals international conference held in Sydney on Monday, 21 October.

“Ben’s appointment has been enthusiastically welcomed across the network,” Gonzalez-Cork said.

“Ben is passionate about the Professionals brand and the real estate industry. He is a young, progressive leader, full of energy and committed to creating change to drive the network forward.”

Emphasising his commitment to driving the transformation at Professionals, Stevens will reportedly focus on modernising operations, launching marketing strategies, and fostering a culture of innovation to position the group as an industry leader.

Stevens replaces outgoing chair Cameron Wilson, who is returning his focus to his business, Professionals Armadale in Perth, and his family.

Wilson commented on the new addition of Stevens, noting that he “embodies the qualities of a young dynamic leader”.

Wilson is inspired by the vision that Stevens has for the industry.

“He is not only a highly successful businessman but also brings a fresh perspective,” Wilson said.

“I have every confidence that under his leadership, Professionals Group Australia will grow and adapt to the challenges of our evolving market,” the outgoing chair added.

Stevens said he hadn’t seen himself as a replacement for Wilson until approached about the role. “It was a very humbling moment when I became the board’s unanimous choice,’’ Stevens stated.

He also highlighted the strong working relationship with Gonzalez-Cork and the diverse board, noting the camaraderie across the network and willingness to support each other makes Professionals unique.

“The board, executive team and members share my optimism and willingness to write the group’s next chapter. It’s an exciting time to be part of the real estate industry,” Stevens stated.
