The network-backed foundation has supported more than a thousand charitable initiatives.

The Harcourts Foundation has just ticked over a significant marker, having officially raised $9 million during its 16 years of operation.

With a reach across Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, these funds have reportedly benefitted a total of 1,356 charities since the foundation’s inception in 2008.

Pauline Smith, head of the Harcourts Foundation in Australia, noted that the milestone was particularly significant under the current circumstances.

“Reaching the $9 million mark is an incredible achievement in tough economic times, but what truly matters is the outcomes the donations have enabled the hard-working charities to achieve at a local level,” she said.

But it’s a testament to the network and its community outreach that the foundation has been able to contribute to such causes as aiding those affected by natural disasters, providing meals for families in need, building homes for underprivileged communities, funding medical research, and creating opportunities for youth development.

Smith noted that while the organisation has a broad purview, it’s ultimately driven by the simple values that underpin the real estate brand.

“At the core of Harcourts are our values. Putting people first, doing the right thing, being courageous, and having fun and laughter. The Harcourts Foundation embodies these values and represents what it means to be part of Harcourts,” she said.

She also noted that the foundation will be unveiling a major partnership early in 2025 that will drive much of its efforts going forward.

Mike Green, managing director of Harcourts International, described the $9 million milestone as “an incredible achievement, and one that is a testament to the Harcourts spirit”.
