The launch of two new asset management teams in the state are set to revitalise the firm’s Tasmanian foothold, with plans for further growth and expansion already in the pipeline.
Knight Frank has strengthened its Tasmanian presence with the announcement of two new asset management services (AMS) teams located in Hobart and Launceston.
Following the departure of Knight Frank’s previous Tasmanian franchise, which operated for 27 years before being acquired by Elders in mid-2024, the firm stated that the newly formed teams would mark the “beginning of a new phase for Knight Frank Australia in Tasmania”.
The new teams will oversee 10 Tasmanian shopping centres for Region Group as part of Knight Frank’s strategic partnership with the group which began in mid-2022, and adds onto the firm’s existing management of Region Group’s nationwide portfolio of 100 shopping centres.
Working across both of Knight Frank’s new Tasmanian teams will be the firm’s regional operations manager for Tasmania, Daniel Hochstadter, who will be joined by marketing manager for Tasmania, Anne Lacy, and the firm’s regional portfolio manager for Victoria and Tasmania, Joseph Galea.
At the head of the firm’s Hobart operations will be the centre manager for Hobart, Harmonie Green, who will oversee seven shopping centers in the south of Tasmania alongside administration manager for Hobart, Atul Trikha, and operations coordinator for Hobart, Narah Hughes.
Up north, the centre manager for Launceston, Diana Mitchell, will manage three shopping centres in the north of Tasmania, along with administration manager for Launceston, Christina Richards, and operations manager for Launceston, Caine McLennan.
The firm’s head of asset management, region portfolio, Jo Fleming, said the establishment of the new AMS teams in Tasmania was “significant” for Knight Frank’s operations in the state, adding that the “extensive expertise” of the new team would “greatly benefit” the firm’s Tasmanian clients.
“The Knight Frank Tasmanian team is comprised of highly experienced operators who will enable us to provide the best service to Region Group’s centres as well as providing a foundation for other organisations within the Tasmanian market,” Fleming said.
Knight Frank Australia CEO, James Patterson, shared he was enthusiastic about expanding the firm’s Tasmanian presence.
The CEO also noted that Knight Frank would look to leverage the extensive Tasmanian network of its partner, McGrath Estate Agents, to help further bolster and expand Knight Frank’s Tasmanian activity in 2025.
“We believe Tasmania has significant growth prospects for the future and will look to continuing to expand our teams in the state,” Patterson said.
