A well-known agent in one of the country’s hottest lifestyle destinations has decided to join a rapidly growing name in real estate.
Highland Group has welcomed Hanan Cawley and his Surfers Paradise-based team to the fold, striking a deal to merge with the young agency that has achieved remarkable success in just a few short years.
Previously known as HANAN, the business will now become part of the Highland business and be known as Highland Gold Coast, with Cawley stepping into the role of managing director of that office.
With eight years in the industry and an impressive record that includes handling more than $350 million worth of property sales over that period, Cawley has established himself as a strong presence in Surfers Paradise and its surrounding suburbs. His name became further recognised in the prestige market when he established HANAN, three years ago.
Commenting on the new addition, Highland CEO David Highland said that the parallels between the growing agency and the established brand made the merger a natural fit.
“Hanan is one of those agents that I’ve been watching for the past couple years as an up-and-comer in the industry. He has been able to build something incredible in a short period and I could see a lot of similarities in how he established his agency as a leading brand on the Gold Coast to how Highland has grown in Greater Sydney and the Southern Highlands,” Highland said.
Established in 2007, Highland property became well-known as a Sydney brand before expanding outside of the city to the Southern Highlands, making the move to Queensland in 2023 with an office on the Gold Coast. The addition of Cawley and his team now significantly bolsters what the brand will be able to accomplish in the area.
“It was the right time for us to expand our Queensland team, and Hanan was the right person to get on board to lead us into the future. I’m excited to see what he and the team can achieve in the years to come,” Highland said.
