M3 Property has created a new leadership role to strengthen its risk management framework.
Richard Ong has been named head of property risk at valuations firm M3 Property, bringing more than 15 years of experience to the firm. Most recently, he served as valuation manager at NAB.
Andrew Duguid, M3 Property CEO, explained that the company has created the new role in an effort to underscore its commitment to continuous improvement of M3’s risk management framework.
“Richard is a true expert in this field and I’m confident his appointment will help us achieve those goals. Richard’s extensive experience and the high esteem in which he is held by his peers will add to our already exceptional leadership team, enabling us to further strengthen the way we work with our clients across the country,” Duguid said.
A fellow of the Australian Property Institute (API), a certified practising valuer, and a member of the NSW State Committee of the API, Ong has held senior roles at property heavyweights such as JLL, LMW and Opteon.
In this new role, Ong will work across M3’s portfolio, overseeing risk operations in sectors such as health and aged care, industrial, office, residential development, retail and specialised assets.
He’ll reportedly play a role across the stakeholder groups the firm is involved with, including financiers, corporations, private investors and the government.
Ong’s appointment at M3 comes just after the firm’s recent additions of Edward Hine as director of commercial in NSW, and Antony Schober as director of hotels and leisure in Victoria.
He will work under Duguid, who himself only joined the organisation in August of 2024, following an extensive national search to find a new CEO.
