At just 28 years old, Larissa Schembri has been appointed to a directorial role at LJ Hooker’s new Liverpool office.
The network has announced the appointment of Larissa Schembri as a director at LJ Hooker Bankstown | Moorebank’s new Liverpool office.
After starting her career in the construction sector, Schembri decided to make the transition to real estate during the COVID-19 pandemic, initially working with a local Liverpool agency before joining LJ Hooker Bankstown | Moorebank.
Reflecting on her career so far, Schembri said her passion for real estate was ignited when she purchased her first apartment in Warwick Farm at the age of 20, and shared that “it has always been my goal to own my office and work as a real estate agent”.
At 28 years old and with just three years of experience in the LJ Hooker network, Schembri is now set to partner with her mentor and boss, Sam Nader, as a business partner in the new Liverpool office.
Highlighting that “Liverpool is a city itself and is surrounded by high-growth areas”, Schembri explained that after establishing a strong market presence, she realised that Liverpool’s full potential could only be unlocked by opening a new office – a proposal that received unanimous support.
“It is exciting to be able to take this next step in my career and I couldn’t be more grateful to have the support of my principal, Sam, and our other business partner, Bill Salameh, along the way,” Schembri said.
Speaking on Schembri’s appointment, Nader noted that he recognised her potential “on day one” due to her eagerness to learn, strong self-discipline and forward-thinking growth mindset.
“It is remarkable what she has achieved in just three years; she is an inspiration for many young women in the area who are now considering a career in property and have asked her for mentoring,” Nader said.
Now leading the newly opened LJ Hooker Liverpool office, Schembri plans to capitalise on the office’s prime location in the heart of Liverpool to drive growth as the suburb continues to evolve.
“Liverpool is expected to become the third biggest city in New South Wales, and its proximity to the new Western Sydney International Airport – just 30 minutes away – will bring even more changes to the area, so it will be exciting to play a part in that transformation,” she said.
LJ Hooker’s head of network Australia, Chris Keating, congratulated its Bankstown and Moorebank branch on the opening of its new office, and shared that it’s “terrific when principals, such as Sam, recognise the potential of younger staff members and create pathways to advance careers within the network”.
“LJ Hooker is counting down to its centenary celebrations, but it has remained strong and vibrant thanks in part to the next generation of up-and-coming agents and principals like Larissa,” Keating said.
This latest opening builds on LJ Hooker’s ongoing growth, with the network recently expanding its presence in the Illawarra region by rebranding three local offices, now under the leadership of real estate veteran Martin Merritt.
