A finance specialist has purchased an agency in the Mornington Peninsula and relaunched with the national network.

Chris Borg, an award-winning finance specialist and founder of Borg Financial, has joined forces with Raine & Horne and launched Raine & Horne Shoreline in Melbourne’s Rye, Mornington Peninsula.

The move follows Borg’s acquisition of Shoreline Real Estate from its founders, Jim and Anastasia Arvanitakis, who established the business in 2019. The new office takeover from Raine & Horne, strategically located on Point Nepean Road, in Rye, will serve a diverse property market stretching from Frankston to Sorrento, a region known for its coastal charm.

Borg brings over 14 years of finance experience to this venture, including time at the National Australia Bank (NAB) and six years leading his own business. He’ll be supported in this endeavor by Jim and Anastasia Arvanitakis, who are staying on in the agency.

“I’m proud to take on the legacy of success that Jim and Anastasia have built, and we will continue to be a trusted and dependable partner for those seeking to sell and lease properties between Frankston and Sorrento,” Borg said.

In addition to the agency’s founders, the business will be supported in its next phase by a robust team that will stay on at the firm, including five experienced sales agents and a property management division that oversees a profitable rent roll.

Borg highlighted that as a mortgage broker who now owns his own real estate company, he provides a unique approach to his clients within the real estate industry.

“When clients are considering purchasing a property, as their mortgage broker, I conduct a thorough assessment of their financial circumstances to advise them about how they can proceed. Instead of referring them elsewhere for the sale, I saw the opportunity to handle it myself, streamlining the process for my clients,” Borg said.

Borg stated he feels that the support offered by Raine & Horne is unmatched, and his decision to join the company was influenced by its extensive resources, and the mentorship of Raine & Horne Victoria’s managing director, Randolph Clements.

“Randolph has a huge amount of wisdom and just a very, very strong business acumen, so joining with Raine & Horne is a no-brainer for me,” Borg said, as a business mentor himself.

He believes that the area’s mix of family homes, luxury waterfront properties, and holiday houses along the coastline is key to the business’s success, allowing it to cater to diverse needs no matter the market cycle.

“This variety gives us the flexibility to service a wide range of buyer and seller needs across the Mornington Peninsula. It’s very exciting,” Borg said.

Combining real estate services with mortgage brokering, Borg will also look at ways of aligning with Raine & Horne’s established finance specialist division, Our Broker.
