Two offices have joined The Agency in Sydney’s inner west, bringing with them over 1,500 properties under management and a number of talented sales professionals.

The Agency has strengthened its presence in Sydney’s inner west with the acquisition of sister firms Callagher Estate Agents and Kellys Property.

The Agency’s CEO of Real Estate, Matt Lahood, commented that the arrangement fulfills a strategic goal for the national network.

“Our presence is going from strength to strength right across Sydney’s inner west,” he said.

“This deal builds further on our acquisition in 2023 of Devine Real Estate and sees us cement a stronghold in key areas including Annandale to Leichhardt, and from Newtown to Chippendale”.

With the two brands joining the fold, this brings over 1,500 additional property managements from Callagher and Kellys into The Agency’s portfolio, boosting their total to more than 12,000 property managements nationwide.

The Callagher and Kellys property management portfolios were purchased by the MDC Trilogy Group partnership – a joint venture between fund manager Trilogy Funds and corporate advisory firm Murray Darling Capital (MDC) – as an expansion of the group’s existing inner west Sydney portfolio. This now sees the partnership in control of nearly 6,000 managements across Australia.

Lahood emphasised the advantages of the boosted inner west presence, highlighting its impact on The Agency’s visibility and services in the area.

“This expansion will be highly beneficial in helping grow our already extensive local market presence through both our sales and property management services. It means consumers will see even more of our sign boards which is a win for our entire team,” he said.

Cary and David Giezekamp, principals of Callagher and Kellys, expressed enthusiasm for the transition.

“We are thrilled to be welcomed by The Agency and their extraordinary team,” they said. “As a national brand they offer a unique opportunity to become part of something that will provide our clients with an added advantage. We have always respected The Agency leadership team and we can’t wait to learn and grow together,” the duo commented in a statement.

Under the agreement, all sales and property management teams from Callagher and Kellys will operate under The Agency’s banner.
