Stockland has announced a new resort-style community that will feature 250 homes customised for Australia’s over-50s population.
Expanding its over-50s offerings in Moreton Bay, Stockland has launched Halcyon Serrata, a new resort-style community that will deliver high-quality, low-maintenance homes set to be built and settled within nine months.
Moreton Bay, Queensland’s third-largest local government area with nearly 500,000 residents, is a prime growth hub for over-50s housing, fuelled by the sea- and tree-change trend.
The state is at the forefront of over-50s housing, accounting for 50 per cent of all newly constructed land lease homes.
It is also projected to experience a 1.9 per cent increase in senior internal migration, positioning it as one of the few states with a net gain in older residents across both metropolitan and regional areas.
Halcyon Serrata will feature 250 homes tailored to Australia’s growing over-50s demographic which, according to Stockland research, is set to increase by 1.8 per cent annually over the next decade, outpacing overall population growth by 0.4 per cent.
As the third Stockland community in the region, Halcyon Serrata is located in Queensland’s Burpengary East on a 12-hectare site.
Just 50 kilometres north of Brisbane, Halcyon Serrata is close to major links such as a 2-kilometre drive from the Bruce Highway and a 40-kilometre drive to the Brisbane International Airport.
Project director Andrew Astorquia said Halcyon Serrata offers retirees a transition to a lock-up-and-go lifestyle, with turnkey homes designed for streamlined construction and settlement.
“Halcyon communities allow buyers to right-size without compromise, settle faster, and enjoy a lock-up-and-go lifestyle. With the option of seven house designs, and premium fixtures and finishes pre-selected, buyers can relax and enjoy a streamlined build process,” he said.
The seven pre-designed home options offered in the community include a host of amenities, including a clubhouse overlooking a koala habitat, a heated magnesium pool, pickleball courts, a bowling green, and a gold-glass cinema.
Expressions of interest for the first release of six sites are open, with construction set to begin in March 2025.
