Harcourts Tasmania has strengthened its commitment to inclusivity and community by backing the Tasmanian Tigers Blind Cricket Team with a $5,000 donation.
Harcourts Tasmania announced its continued support for the Tasmanian Tigers Blind Cricket Team with a $5,000 grant from The Harcourts Foundation. The funding will help the team as they prepare to compete in the National Cricket Inclusion Championships.
The National Cricket Inclusion Championships celebrate athletes from blind, deaf and intellectually impaired cricket teams across Australia.
This week, the team was presented with the cheque during a training session at Cornelian Bay Oval.
Five members of the Tasmanian Tigers, dressed in their iconic green, yellow and red uniforms, were joined by their coach as Harcourts representative Dan Winston handed over the $5,000 donation.
The presentation came just ahead of the team’s departure for the highly anticipated national tournament.
Inclusive Innovations Tasmania, the organisation behind Blind Cricket Tasmania, is dedicated to ensuring that individuals living with disabilities, disadvantages, or disruptions have the opportunity to participate in sports and other community activities.
Through its efforts, the organisation provides the governance and management necessary to support Blind Cricket Tasmania and its players, like those on the Tasmanian Tigers team.
Tony Morrison, chief executive officer of Harcourts Tasmania, highlighted the team’s excitement.
“We are beyond thrilled to see how this contribution will empower the team at such a prestigious national tournament,” he said.
“The Tiger’s determination, skill and teamwork exemplify the core values Harcourts stands for. We’re honoured to be part of their incredible journey.”
Tasmanian Foundation ambassador Belinda Dowde also shared her support for the team.
“Good luck to the team, and thank you to Dan Winston for presenting the ‘big cheque.’ Go Tigers!!” she said.
Harcourts Tasmania highlighted that the Tasmanian Tigers not only showcase cricketing talent, but also represent a broader vision of an inclusive and supportive community.
