A commercial office sector veteran has been elected as the Property Council of Australia’s new Queensland president.

Bradley Norris, regional development director for Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia at Charter Hall, was elected as the Property Council of Australia’s Queensland president, the industry body confirmed.

Norris has succeeded outgoing president Luke Fraser, chief executive of Howard Smith Wharves, with a two-year term.

Fraser will remain on the Queensland Division Council in his capacity as immediate past president.

Norris entered the position with over 20 years of experience spanning developments and transactions.

“Queensland has an exciting future which is full of potential, and as the state’s largest industry, the property sector will play a significant role in delivering on that potential,” Norris said.

“Being elected the Queensland president of the Property Council is an honour, and I look forward to working with my fellow Division Councillors and the broader Property Council team to build on the outstanding advocacy achieved over many years.

“While the industry continues to face many challenges, it also offers many of the solutions to Queensland’s most pressing issues – from driving economic development to delivering sustainable, affordable housing, and helping forge Queensland’s reputation as a globally recognised destination,” he said.

“I’ve been involved with the Property Council for many years, starting with the Future Directions Committee. To now be elected Queensland president is humbling, and it’s wonderful to be able to give back to the industry.”

Norris will be supported by Pikos’ Michelle Wooldridge as a continuing vice president, while Stockland’s Adrian Allen has been elected as the new co-vice president.

Jennelle Wilson, Matt Beasley and Shannon Willoughby have also joined the council.

Property Council Queensland executive director, Jess Caire, said that Norris’ expertise has come at an important time for the state.

“A well-regarded leader, respected by his peers, Bradley has a stellar track record over many years, which has seen him contribute to the delivery of city-shaping projects across Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth,” she said.

“With Queensland experiencing a pivotal phase of growth, Bradley is well-positioned to take the helm, as we continue to drive positive change for the property sector and for Queensland as a whole.”
