Professionals Group Australia has confirmed the appointment of a new chief executive officer, with a career spanning 25 years in leadership, strategy and marketing across Australia and the UK.

Sean Hanneberry has been appointed as chief executive officer of Professionals Group Australia, signalling that a large transformation of the network and its 150 offices was on the cards.

Hanneberry previously served as managing director of international consultancy Sapient Nitro and strategy director of Clemenger BBDO.

Following the announcement, the incoming chief executive officer explained that the network would be looking to leverage its untapped potential by empowering members to stand out in an increasingly competitive field.

“My goal is to build a future where Professionals is not just competing in the market, but defining it,” Hanneberry said.

“The real estate industry is undergoing significant change with customer expectations, technology and marketing strategies evolving rapidly. The brands that succeed will only be those that connect, engage and create real value for their clients.

“We will empower our members with the tools, training and support they need to excel in an increasingly competitive landscape.”

Ben Stevens, chairman of the Professionals board, welcomed the appointment, noting that it marks a new direction for the network as it nears its 50th anniversary.

“Sean has built a career working with some of Australia’s most recognised brands and understands the evolving landscape of real estate,” Stevens said.

“His extensive expertise in business growth, combined with his passion for innovation, makes him the ideal leader to drive our network forward to an exciting new chapter.

“Professionals’ strength as a members’ network has always been our people-first approach. With Sean at the helm, we have a leader who is committed to empowering our office principals, elevating our brand and unlocking opportunities for growth.”

Hanneberry replaces Katherine Gonzalez-Cork, who stepped down late last year.
