The new president of the Property Council of Australia’s NSW division will use over two decades of property experience to continue the peak body’s advocacy efforts within the state.
Managing director of Lendlease Communities, Ranisha Clarke, has been appointed as the new president of the Property Council of Australia’s NSW division, taking over Fabrizio Perilli.
Clarke will be supported by NSW division vice president Steven Bennett, direct CEO of Charter Hall Group, and Amanda Steele, group executive head of property for the superannuation fund ISPT.
Property Council NSW executive director Katie Stevenson congratulated Clarke on her election to the role and said her experience and innovative approach would build on Perilli’s leadership over the last two years.
Stevenson said Ranisha’s appointment to the new division council was welcomed as the property sector has entered a period of growth.
“Ranisha is a respected leader with a strong track record in the industry – her expertise will be invaluable as we navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead,” she said.
Clarke said she looks forward to working with the new division council and Property Council teams to drive the industry in the future.
The new division president said one of her focuses will be building on the Property Council’s recent advocacy efforts within NSW’s property sector.
“NSW stands on the brink of a defining era – one where the potential for sustainable growth will shape the future of our cities, regions and economy,” Clarke said.
“As the state’s largest industry, the property sector will be crucial in helping realise this potential.”
Stevenson thanked the NSW division’s outgoing president, Fabrizio Perilli, for his leadership over the last two years, especially around his leading advocacy efforts and strengthening membership engagement.
“Fabrizio has been a steadfast advocate and leader throughout his presidency, playing a critical role representing members and championing the industry’s interests,” Stevenson said.
“He has steered the NSW division through a period of major reform, including the first change of government in more than a decade, and he has overseen the division’s compelling program of events, thought leadership and advocacy across all asset classes,” she added.
PCA’s national president re-elected
Additionally, the Property Council of Australia announced its new national board for 2025–26, including the re-election of Charter Hall Office CEO Carmel Hourigan as national president.
At the board meeting, Stockland CEO Tarun Gupta and QIC’s managing director of real estate, Deb Coakley, were elected deputy presidents.
Property Council CEO Mike Zorbas shared that he is delighted to work with Hourigan and the wider board for the next term.
“We are lucky to have the guidance of Carmel Hourigan as president and one of the country’s most experienced boards of directors,” Zorbas said.
“These leaders understand Australia’s property markets from top to bottom across all property asset classes,” he added.
