Harcourts’ chief growth officer, Tina Ashton, has said the company’s success is rooted in authenticity, highlighting a year of significant growth with 42 new offices and a 0.8 percent increase in market share.
With over 30 years in the real estate industry, Ashton has witnessed vast changes but maintains that trust and integrity remain at the core of lasting client relationships.
“Clients want a professional they can trust, who genuinely have their best interests at heart,” she said.
“While personal branding and social media are instrumental in our profile, it’s easy to be swept up in the cycle of building a perfect image, rather than a reputation built on integrity and transparency.”
Ashton, who has been working closely with new office owners and agents, observed that the most successful professionals share authenticity as a common trait.
“The greatest agents don’t necessarily light up the room, many are just genuine people who focus on the success of others,” she said.
Reflecting on her journey, Ashton recalled advice from managing director Mike Green when she joined Harcourts in 2023.
“‘If we focus on the success of our offices, success will come to our brand’– I believe this highlights the core values that our 140-strong corporate team and company uphold,” Green had said to her.
Ashton believes this philosophy aligns with the core values upheld by Harcourts’ corporate team, which is now 140-strong.
She said that while the way real estate professionals present and market themselves has dramatically changed, it is essential to balance personal profiling with a focus on genuine connections.
“It’s important to keep it real, and while it sounds cliché, people do join people – so to become an attraction agent, you need to prioritise relationships over transactions,” she said.
She also noted that building trust and aligning actions with values are key to long-term success.
