Barry Plant has welcomed back Megan Kimpton into the network’s growth team, where she steps into the role of franchise development manager in property management.

After spending the past two years at another real estate franchise, Kimpton will rejoin Barry Plant with new insights to help the network’s people and businesses reach their full potential.

Barry Plant’s head of growth, Mark Lynch, said that Kimpton has seamlessly stepped into her new role and will continue to be key to the company’s growth in 2025.

“Our focus is on expanding our network and team in a deliberate, sustainable way through thoughtful, strategic decisions and Megan will be a tremendous asset in driving that vision forward,” Lynch said.

Each step of Kimpton’s professional journey has led her to be prepared for her new position.

Kimpton began her career at just 18, as an assistant property manager at a real estate office in Mitcham that would later become part of Barry Plant.

Over the next eight years, she developed her industry expertise and interpersonal skills before joining the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) in 2018 to teach Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.

She later joined Barry Plant as a training manager, where she developed the network’s training programs before transitioning into the role of head of learning and development at another real estate franchise.

In 2023, Kimpton became the general manager at a real estate franchisee, where she acquired hands-on experience in managing multiple real estate offices.

Kimpton said she was thrilled to be back in Barry Plant, and shared that she aims to drive "meaningful, large-scale change at a corporate level”.

She said the conversations about her re-entry into Barry Plant started when the network’s CEO, Lisa Pennell, reached out with a job opportunity while she had been taking an extended break from her general manager role.

“Lisa Pennell noticed when I took an extended break over Christmas and reached out with an opportunity to return. It felt like the right time to come back,” Kimpton said.

While Pennell had previously worked with Kimpton for only a short time, she was instantly impressed by her drive and enthusiasm.

“It was a serendipitous call, as Megan had been following our work and was keen to return and the great news is she’s hit the ground running with the growth team and is already making waves in the network,” Pennell said.

In her new role, Kimpton will work to empower Barry Plant’s property managers and business development managers, and drive growth for the broader network.

“Our goal for 2025 is to see substantial growth in property management and sales both internally and externally,” Kimpton said.

“We want to help our people gain the confidence and skills to take their careers to the next level,” she concluded.
