The Property Council of Australia (PCA) has revealed the new members for the Townsville, Gold Coast, and Sunshine Coast committees for the 2025–26 term.
Executive director of the council’s Queensland division, Jess Caire, said the new regional committees would play a “crucial role” in shaping the future of Queensland’s property sector.
Caire said that each committee comprises a “diverse” mix of professionals, including developers, planners, legal experts and asset managers, who will work together to protect the interests of their local property sectors.
“Our committees are the backbone of our advocacy efforts, ensuring that local knowledge and strong industry representation guide our work,” Caire said.
Knight Frank partner, Matthew Ryan, has been appointed as chair of the Townsville committee, while Angie Hanson from professional services company Turner & Townsend will serve as deputy chair.
Ryan said Townsville has “enormous potential” being North Queensland’s largest city and major regional hub.
“From housing and infrastructure to commercial and industrial development, we must seize opportunities while tackling challenges such as housing supply and economic growth,” Ryan said.
General manager at development company Urbex, Carl Bruhn, will lead the Gold Coast committee as chair, while Melissa Griffin from Urbis has been appointed as deputy chair.
“The Gold Coast is a dynamic and fast-growing city, but its success brings challenges,” Bruhn said.
“Housing supply, infrastructure and business investment must keep pace to maintain the city’s appeal and economic momentum,” he added.
On the Sunshine Coast, senior development manager at the Walker Corporation, Chris Graham, will chair the council's committee, with Brad Williams from RPS AAP Consulting as deputy chair.
Graham said the new committee will focus on ensuring the Sunshine Coast’s planning framework supports population growth, infrastructure delivery and business expansion.
“With the Sunshine Coast’s population set to grow by 220,000 people by 2046, our priority will be advocating for policies that support housing, commercial space and transport infrastructure,” Graham said.
Caire said she looks forward to working alongside the regional committees and stakeholders to create thriving and sustainable communities in regional Queensland.
The new PCA appointments follow the peak body’s recent appointment of Bradley Norris from Charter Hall as Queensland president.
