LJ Hooker Bankstown | Moorebank has announced the opening of a new office in Liverpool, marking the network’s expansion into the Greater Western Region.
At just 28 years old, Larissa Schembri has been appointed director of LJ Hooker’s Liverpool office, quickly rising through the ranks of the real estate industry.
Schembri, who started at LJ Hooker three years ago as a real estate agent, said the new position aligns with her career goals.
“It has always been a goal of mine to have my own office as well as being a real estate agent,” she said.
Schembri grew up on the Central Coast before relocating to Liverpool, where she shifted her career from construction to the real estate sector during the pandemic.
She started her journey at another local agency before joining LJ Hooker Bankstown | Moorebank, where her potential was recognised by her principal, Sam Nader.
“Quite simply, there is nobody who can outwork Larissa – she put in long hours without any complaints – sometimes we have to tell her it’s time to go home,” Nader said.
“It is remarkable what she has achieved in just three years; she is an inspiration for many young women in the area who are now considering a career in property and have asked her for mentoring.”
Chris Keating, head of network Australia, acknowledged the significance of LJ Hooker’s expansion.
“It is terrific when principals, such as Sam, recognise the potential of younger staff members and create pathways to advance careers within the network,” Keating said.
“LJ Hooker is counting down to its centenary celebrations, but it has remained strong and vibrant, thanks in part to the next generation of up-and-coming agents and principals like Larissa.”
In a short time, Schembri has demonstrated her ambition, earning recognition as one of Sydney’s top young agents due to her strong work ethic and dedication.
“It is exciting to be able to take this next step in my career, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have the support of my principal, Sam, and our other business partner, Bill Salameh, along the way,” Schembri said.
Schembri highlighted Liverpool’s status as a city and its surrounding high-growth areas, noting her established market share in the region as a key driver for the opening of the new office.
“I’d developed a large market share in the area, but to grow it even further, we needed to open an office to give the brand an official presence and, luckily, everyone agreed,” she said.
The new location aims to establish a formal presence for the brand in the area, which is expected to become one of the largest cities in NSW, particularly true given its proximity to the upcoming Western Sydney International Airport.
