The Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) has launched a new online learning platform to enhance professional development opportunities for real estate professionals across the region.
REIWA has introduced its new learning portal, in partnership with Australian education technology provider aXcelerate, to deliver high-quality training tailored to the real estate industry’s evolving needs.
REIWA chief executive officer, Cath Hart, said the initiative aligns with the peak body’s commitment to excellence and upholding the highest professional standards.
“REWIA is committed to meeting the development needs of industry professionals now and into the future,” Hart said.
“This new learning system makes professional development more accessible and flexible, whether people are just starting out in the industry or looking to take the next step in their career.”
Data from Consumer Protection, retrieved by WAtoday, showed that more real estate agents are needed in the state, as only 4,500 licensed real estate agents were listed in January 2024, nearly 800 fewer licences than in January 2023.
The REIWA Learning Portal features an expanded course offering and new trainers, accessible across multiple venues in Western Australia, making it easier for professionals to gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
Students undertaking entry-level courses through REIWA Training will also gain access to REIWA member products and tools, including legal forms for property transitions, property valuation tools, and police checks.
Hart said the resources aim to ensure students receive practical, industry-relevant training.
“Our goal is to make sure people entering the industry are equipped with the practical skills they can apply in their future workplaces,” Hart said.
The platform will help train future real estate agents in Western Australia as the market continues its upward trend.
According to the peak body, Perth’s median house sale price increased by 1 per cent to $757,750 in February 2025, a 22.2 per cent increase from February 2024.
Similarly, the median unit sale price in Perth increased during the month, rising 2 per cent from February 2025 and 21.4 per cent year over year to $510,000.
Hart said the platform will allow professionals to stay up to date with the latest trends and compliance requirements in the ever-changing real estate market.
“REIWA Training provides practical experience, complimentary access to member products and tools while people study, and ongoing support from experienced trainers, active WA agents, sales representatives, and property managers,” Hart said.
