An industry veteran pursues her long-held dream of opening her own agency.
Angela Woods has launched Mint Property Newcastle, a boutique agency developed in partnership with URBAN X, a platform tailored to support the development of real estate businesses.
Woods said starting her own agency was a natural progression after 18 years of experience in the real estate industry, 16 of which she served as a residential sales consultant under Ray White Newcastle.
“I have had family, friends, and clients suggesting I should go out on my own for many years, but the daunting prospect of handling administration of a business has always held me back,” Woods said.
While the prospect of managing business administration initially deterred Woods, partnering with URBAN X provided the necessary support she required to concentrate on sales and client relationships.
“I have seen several of my peers take the plunge with URBAN X over the last few years, showcasing who they are as agents with their unique branding and strategy,” she said.
“I wanted the same for myself, I didn’t want to live with the regrets of not having a go.”
Woods said the opening of Mint Property Newcastle resulted from careful planning and the right opportunity to launch the boutique agency.
“I think everyone has fears of breaking away from a safe space, but since making the decision, the fear has faded away,” she said.
Woods noted that Mint Property Newcastle’s partnership with URBAN X spearheaded the brand’s development.
“URBAN X had reached out, and after seeing more and more agents succeed with them, I started to seriously consider taking the plunge,” she said.
She added the URBAN X team supported her boutique agency’s onboarding process with high-quality systems and services.
“I love being an agent and focusing on clients, and I love that URBAN X will look after the backend administration aspects of everything,” Woods said.
“I am so proud of the brand I have created, and I’m excited to see where it goes.”
Beginning her journey in real estate in 2007, Woods has built a reputation for fostering trust with clients, including those who have previously had negative experiences in the market.
Through Mint Property Newcastle, she will assist clients with everything from large multiresidential projects to individual home sales.
As she embarks on this new chapter, Woods encourages other agents to consider launching their independent businesses.
“Nobody wants to live with regrets. You have to back yourself. Just do it! You can do it!,” Woods concluded.
