In a bid to acknowledge those who have done their bit to fortify Australia's property future, nominations have now opened for the Urban Taskforce's eighth annual Property Person of the Year.

"The 2010 Property Person of the Year will be a leading Australian who has positioned their business to succeed in the aftermath of the global financial crisis," Urban Taskforce chief executive Aaron Gadiel said.

Mr Gadiel said previous award recipients have been impressive community leaders who played a major part in building Australia.

In the past the award has raised $1.5 million for charitable causes.

"Recipients of the Property Person of the Year Award have helped shape Australia with billions of dollars of development," Mr Gadiel said.

"Their work has helped strengthen our economy.

"They're also individuals who've contributed to the community in other ways, particularly through charitable causes."

Nominations close on 19 August 2010. A nomination form is available on the Urban Taskforce's website: www.urbantaskforce.com.au.
