Pundits voice support for O’Farrell

Industry pundits have shown their support for NSW Opposition leader Barry O’Farrell’s infrastructure funding proposal.

Last week, Mr O’Farrell said he would lobby the government to inject more funds into the State’s various infrastructure projects.

Mr O’Farrell said he was concerned about the lack of development currently underway and said increasing funds to the sector was a top priority.

Urban Taskforce’s chief executive Aaron Gadiel praised the Opposition leader for his commitment to infrastructure.

“Urban infrastructure constraints, such as public transport and arterial roads, threaten to limit growth and drive jobs overseas,” Mr Gadiel said.

“The investments that have been made are not sufficient and there is no ongoing framework for urban infrastructure.”

Mr Gadiel said the government would be well positioned to introduce an annual rolling program of federal urban infrastructure funding, including expanded public transport, motorways and key arterial roads crucial to growth.
