The introduction of a national licensing framework for the real estate industry will ultimately lift industry-wide professionalism and standards, according to KAPLAN national manager sales Brian Knight.

Speaking to Real Estate Business, Mr Knight said introducing national regulation and standards to the real estate industry is a vital step to ensure all agents receive the correct level of education.

“To have a centralised regulation system is going to make a massive difference to the industry and to education standards,” he said.

“From there I feel this will put a lot of pressure on some of the suppliers that don’t necessarily provide the standards that they should. Once you have national regulation and national standards it’s much easier to ensure you get evenness and equality across all suppliers.”

Moving forward, Mr Knight is confident the industry will embrace such changes.

“We believe that this is the biggest issue that will affect agent quality and education.”
