An increasing number of small independent agents are looking to rebrand with larger networks as they seek support with technology, training and marketing, Harcourts Victoria franchise development manager Marguerite Foxall has claimed.
“Global real estate companies like Harcourts are constantly progressing in terms of technology, training and marketing which makes it hard for the smaller independent businesses and state-based groups to keep up,” she said.
“If independent business owners want to grow their businesses, they will have to change or they risk falling behind.”
She said working for bigger brands also helped principals when it came to recruiting talented staff.
“People are attracted to the larger brands and are seeing the benefits that come with being part of a global organisation,” Ms Foxall said. “It’s becoming increasingly difficult for independent and state-based businesses to offer staff the same benefits as the large global franchises.”
“I’m finding that the good independents are shopping around at the moment and are looking to rebrand under a large, reputable real estate brand in order to keep their business secure for the coming years.”
