For the first time in nearly 10 years Richardson & Wrench (R&W) has returned to the Sydney CBD market with the opening of a new commercial property office.
“Sydney City has been the missing link in our commercial operations,” Richardson & Wrench executive director Andrew Cocks said.
“This is a jewel in the crown in commercial real estate terms and we look forward to R&W Sydney City Commercial establishing a prominent position as we have seen with our existing commercial offices.”
The new office will be headed by principal directors Phil Rawlinson, Geoff McDonald and Peter Kempthorne, who previously led commercial firm Rawlinsons Corporate Real Estate, which has had a presence in the Sydney CBD for the past 21 years.
Mr Rawlinson said the office would focus on servicing mid-range clients who were of lesser interest to the larger agencies, as well as operating as the second agent on large institutional transactions.
“There is a sizeable section of the market that is too small for the biggest operators but large enough to require the level of hands-on senior experience and professionalism that we provide,” he said.
R&W Sydney City Commercial said it would service private, corporate and institutional clients in the areas of commercial and retail leasing, sales, property management and advisory, including valuation.
The opening of the Sydney office comes hot on the heels of R&W's decision to launch a new shopfront on the NSW Central Coast, which commenced operations late last month.
The group, which currently numbers 100 offices in NSW and Queensland, said it is planning to double the number of franchised offices in the next five years.
