The Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) has launched its own residential and commercial property listing website, which will feature the property listings of its members.

“Buyers of Queensland real estate can now find property listings on reiq.com by accredited agencies exclusively,” REIQ managing director Dan Molloy said.

“A real estate agency must be a member of the REIQ to have the right to upload their Queensland property listings to reiq.com.”

REIQ said it had spent the previous 12 months updating its website to provide more consumer information and property data for suburbs across the state.

“Our goal was to develop a website that consumers could use to find the answers they need whether they are a first-time buyer or seller, or a seasoned investor,” said Mr Molloy.

“We also wanted to make it as simple as possible for sellers to find a REIQ accredited agency to sell their home, which they can do through our search engine on the home page.”

The REIQ said that about 80 per cent of real estate agencies across Queensland are accredited with them.

“They have committed to adhere to the Institute’s Standards of Business Practice and to undertake compulsory professional development each year to keep abreast of new legislation and issues affecting the real estate profession,” the REIQ said. “Each REIQ accredited agency must also carry professional indemnity insurance.”

REIQ said research found that the top influences for sellers when they are considering which agency to approach to help sell their property are the agency having a good reputation; the agency having a high profile in the area; and the agency being a member of the REIQ.
