Online training is becoming increasingly popular due to its flexibility, and is particularly attractive to people looking to enter the real estate industry, Harcourts has said.

“With many students still working before making a career move to real estate, they can continue with their job whilst studying online after hours,” said Leah Young, state trainer with Harcourts Victoria.

“It also enables students from non-English speaking backgrounds to work at their own pace, rather than getting lost in the classroom environment.

“It is far more convenient for geographically-challenged students and saves them time and money in terms of commuting. Online learning is also a fantastic tool for revision, as students can revisit the modules at any time,” Ms Young said.

The real estate group, which delivers education programs through its training division, The Harcourts Academy, said it was creating more online-based training courses.

“Our current online learning modules include law, ethics and documentation content, and complement our classroom training. We also offer online business planning for business owners and sales consultants,” said Megan McLean, academy support with Harcourts Victoria.

“The Harcourts Academy is now focusing on flipping the classroom for many of our traditionally classroom-only programs.  A lot of work has been done recently on transforming key sections of our sales program to deliver it online, and the course list is continually growing.”

Leah Young, State Trainer with Harcourts Victoria, is seeing the benefits of online learning, particularly when combined with traditional classroom learning.
