A lacklustre Gold Coast property market hasn’t deterred a major Victorian agency group from boosting its presence in the region, with Fletchers set to open its second Queensland office next month.

Fletchers, who were recently named Best Large Agency of the Year at the Real Estate Institute of Victoria’s (REIV) annual awards, confirmed that its new Gold Coast South office would commence operations on December 17.

The office will cover Palm Beach, Elanora, Currumbin Waters and adjacent areas, and follows the opening of Fletchers first Queensland office, in Mermaid Beach, last year.

“We are delighted that Larry and Kathie Beech with Robbie and Laura Robinson and their whole sales and property management team have chosen to become part of Fletchers,” managing director of Fletchers (South East Qld), Christopher Stear, said.

“Effectively what has been a very successful opposition [The Professionals] franchise will close its doors on Friday and open on Saturday as Fletchers.”

“Larry is one of the Gold Coast’s most experienced and successful real estate agents. With over 20 years experience his local knowledge is legendary and his track record of success ranges from small apartments to multi-million dollar beachfront homes.

“It’s been a well-kept secret in the face of much local industry speculation over which brand Larry and Kathie were going with.

“Their almost legendary local reputations and experience generated a lot of interest and inquiry from competitors, but I have to say right from the start they were attracted to Fletchers world’s best practice approach and since we first met there [has] been no looking back.”

Fletchers Gold Coast South will be located in the 19th Avenue Shopping Village.

According to its website Fletchers, which operates a franchise model, has 10 offices located in Victoria. It commenced operations in 1919.
