Around 350 new agents joined the Fairfax Media-owned Domain.com.au site in the 12 months to December, helping boost listing numbers by 10 per cent, the company has reported.

“Domain’s increasing market share is a very positive sign for the brand,” said Tony Blamey, general manager real estate, Fairfax Marketplaces.

“In the past year considerable time and resources have been invested to ensure we maintain and grow our position as one of the leading providers of real estate information in Australia.”

“Within the next 12 months the focus is on continued investment in building the Domain brand, extending our integrated print and online model, focusing on new products and increasing investment in mobile.”

Mr Blamey said mobile is becoming an increasingly important medium for real estate agents, providing support for online and print marketing campaigns.

“Over 20 per cent of enquires for agents are now coming from mobile devices,” he said.

“Domain is leading the property market with its app downloads and is fast approaching the one million download mark,” he added.

“The product development team is working on delivering richer content through video and research data to our users which ultimately will generate a more qualified and high quality lead to real estate agents.”
