Staff Reporter
In an industry first, Real Estate Business has unveiled plans for an annual ranking of the country’s leading estate agents.
In the ground-breaking report the leading industry title will rank individual estate agents according to a range of criteria including number of sales and listings, location and support staff numbers based on their 2011 calendar year results.
The list will not only focus on the big volume generators but also those agents who are highly productive, wherever they’re located in Australia – in cities or regional centres.
The data, which will be supplied by agents individually via an online poll, will be independently verified by the agent’s head office, Real Estate Business’ research partner, RP Data, and where required, other independent sources.
As well as identifying the industry's most productive and successful agents this benchmark report will also help reveal key indicators as to the business practices and philosophies of Australia's top agents.
Timing for the report could not be a better according to Real Estate Business group publisher Alex Whitlock.
“The real estate industry is enduring particularly challenging market conditions right now with consumer uncertainty paving the way for what seems to be a new more cautious approach to real estate as an investment.
"This report will help us better understand what the best agents are doing to position themselves at the forefront of their industry. Thought leadership and innovation are often products of tough times, not when the market is booming.
There are some agents out there that are streets ahead of their peers and we want to recognise their achievement and highlight the business attitudes and practices that define them," he said.
The ranking will also deliver significant value to those agents who achieve Top 100 status, Mr Whitlock said.
“Acknowledgement by the leading industry magazine will carry a lot of weight for those agents who make the list."
