Top listing strategies, winning rent roll growth tactics and the critical procedures that keep an agency's bank account safe are just three of the many topics for property managers and principals at the upcoming 2012 PPM National Property Management Conference.
Aaron Shiner, from Elliot Shiner First National (who generated 145 sales last year), will reveal his listing and sales success secrets that can easily translate into winning more property management listings.
Mr Shiner’s session, 'How to list with the best', will show attendees how to ensure their prospective landlords won't be able to say 'no' - with what the event organiser said will be his “high tech and fresh approach” to a property management listing presentation.
Mr Shiner said it doesn't matter if you are in sales or property management, the listing process, relationship building, techniques, scripts and how to close remains the same.
“As an industry we are seeing more business development managers and property managers attending sales training to become better sales people,” said Debbie Palmer, managing director and CEO of the PPM Group, the conference organiser.
Ms Palmer, who will also speak at the conference, will challenge the way every principal manages their internal trust and general accounts when she presents, 'Are your bank accounts safe?'
Ms Palmer said it’s more prevalent in the industry than many may think, but business owners don't want to talk about it. She said the presentation will be based around real life experiences and industry feedback, where she knows of many cases involving amounts of between $50 and $750,000.
She said the session will lift the lid on how easy it can be for bank account fraud to occur as well focusing on the telltale signs and personality attributes to be cautious of.
The event, to be held on the Gold Coast on June 17 and 18, will cover an array of industry topics. This includes technology, social media, internet advertising, tenant scripts, how to increase the value of your rent roll, client servicing strategies, courtroom antics and how to be prepared for a tribunal hearing, common mistakes made by property managers and streamlining the tenant application process.
Other speakers include Arthur Charlaftis, GM sales and operations at REA Group, who will speak on internet advertising, and how to get noticed; Anders Sorman-Nilsson, the founder and creative director of the Sydney and Stockholm based research company Thinque and international speaker, will help attendees understand and harness “disruptive trends in innovations, generations and communications”.
Ms Palmer, who was the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) Gold Coast Property Manager of the Year in 1996 and 1997, and State finalist in 1998, told Real Estate Business the event had a mystery ending that would literally “amaze” attendees...tapping into the courage and power of every delegate and have them leaving energised and focused.
“I can’t reveal it but it’s going to be a grand finale,” she said.
Event sponsor Direct Connect are also giving away $10,000 in lucky door prizes, she added.
