McGrath Estate Agents has opened its second office in Brisbane, and its 47th overall, continuing its aggressive push into the Queensland market.

The announcement comes two weeks after McGrath Estate Agents opened a company-owned office in the inner Brisbane suburb of Paddington.

The second office, a franchise outlet to be operated by Mikki Finlay, will be located in Ascot, servicing a territory from Northgate in the north, to Hamilton in the south, Hendra in the east and Grange in the west. Key suburbs to be serviced by McGrath Ascot include Hamilton, Clayfield, Windsor, Wilston, Wooloowin and surrounds.

“We believe these areas have huge potential for growth both in terms of population and value,” said chief executive, John McGrath.

“While they have a reputation for top-end property there is in fact a diverse housing mix attracting an equally diverse range of new residents.”

McGrath Estate Agents said last month that it plans to open two more offices in Brisbane, and another in Toowoomba, in the near future.

The company said proximity to the CBD, good public transport links and the appeal of living in some of Brisbane’s most prestigious suburbs have made the area a magnet for high-quality new development, one sector that McGrath Ascot intends to target.

“There is a wide open opportunity for a top end operator to give a total project management type of service from start to finish,” said Ms Finlay.

“The demand for a personalised premium service is already high and only going to become more so as young families and professionals seek out the quality to be found in the inner north.

“Investors have been particularly active in suburbs such as Chermside, Albion and Lutwyche where there has been a surge in new development, improved transport and student amenities.”

A resident of Hamilton for close to 10 years, McGrath Estate Agents said Ms Finlay will continue to concentrate on the top-end homes with which Mikki Finlay Premium Residential has been synonymous, while recruiting area specialists.

“With the opening of Ascot we have 47 strategically located offices in Sydney, Canberra, regional NSW, the Gold Coast and Brisbane,” Mr McGrath added.

“Along the way we have broken new ground at every step, from our approach to marketing to the use of technology. We were the first to launch a real estate website and we have been leaders in the application of database marketing.

“We have a database of more than 95,000 contacts and 100,000 new visitors monthly to our website. Along with Mikki’s valuable contacts, that gives every property we sell an enormous edge in reaching a geographically diverse range of potential buyers.”

McGrath Ascot will operate from Ms Finlay’s existing Brisbane CBD office until new premises open in Ascot in September.
