An Adelaide real estate 'power couple' has announced their move from a well-known independent office to a franchise network.
Former Toop & Toop agents John and Stephanie Williams will move to Michael Brock’s, of Brock Harcourts, next week. The office will then be renamed Harcourts Brock-Williams.
The married couple is known for selling high-end, multi-million-dollar properties.
According to Anthony Toop, managing director of Toop & Toop Real Estate, the Williamses had always planned to move into running their own business.
“It was very clear from the get go that they always intended to have five years with us, and whilst they fell slightly short [of this], it wasn’t a surprise,” he told Real Estate Business.
While Mr Toop wished the couple well he is confident their absence would not affect the business.
“I definitely wish them all the best, [but] I don’t think they’ll impact on us," he said.
“We pride ourselves on having the best with us,” he continued. “We have a great depth of agents who are ready to step up and be the next superstar. While they were there the next big thing was never going to emerge.”
Greg Moulton, CEO of Brock Harcourts, said he welcomed the Williamses with open arms.
“It is always fantastic when good people join our ranks and we hope we soon can announce more additions to the business,” he told Real Estate Business.
According to Mr Moutlon, the couple approached Brock Harcourts initially with an enquiry about running their own office, however at the time there were no offices available.
“There is no doubt in my mind that they fit our brand perfectly,” he said. “We pride ourselves on our values and we believe they fit those values.”
