Making slight changes to your business can make all the difference, says one performance trainer.

“We are in an interesting economic environment at the moment and everyone is in the same boat,” Simon Treselyan told Real Estate Business at the PPM Property Management Conference on the Gold Coast earlier this week.

“You only need to increase your capacity a little bit to up-end the competition and actually get the business.”

Searching for that small edge over the competition is what drove many of the more than 240 property managers and principals to attend the annual PPM conference, he added.

This year marked the tenth anniversary of the event, which included national and international speakers Anders Sorman-Nillson, real estate trainers Stacey Holt and Aaron Shiner as well as property management specialists Dorothy Hamilton, Michelle Williams, Jade Guilmartin and Debbie Palmer, among others.

“We only pick the best to speak at PPM so we can’t just single anyone out really, but real stands out were Anders Sorman-Nilsson and Aaron Shiner,” Mr Treselyan, who was also host of the event, said.

“Those two especially have delivered an area of messages that we were very keen to get across."

Oraginsers of the conference believe the event was a great success, and predict an even bigger turn out next year around.

“Feedback has been phenomenal, these guys are always really positive people. They come here to learn and come for those light bulb moments and then take them back and apply them in their life,” Mr Treselyan said.

“I believe we have raised the bar in terms of some of our speakers and the content we have been delivering and it’s been reflecting back in our feedback with our delegates."

“We are giving attendants the secret weapons, if you like, that they can use in their businesses in order to get better customer satisfaction, better reporting and better performance across their company.”
