LJ Hooker has signed an agreement with Chinese buyer-focused listing website Juwai.com, which will see the real estate group’s residential and commercial listings marketed on the website.
"Over the past 18 months LJ Hooker has been investing heavily in the online and digital space for our agents as well as clients; and has demonstrated great results with over 40 per cent increase in traffic on ljhooker.com.au in the last 12 months,” Georg Chmiel, chief executive of LJ Hooker, said.
“Through this portal we will further expand the online reach of our residential and commercial listings and provide access to one of the fastest growing markets for our clients.”
LJ Hooker, which opened an office in Shanghai, China in 2004, hopes to attract a greater number of Chinese investors to its listings.
According to Juwai, the site is China’s leading international property portal when ranked by unique browsers, property listings and editorial resources.
It said 84 per cent of its traffic is comprised of high net worth Chinese, located in 315 cities within China, with the most dominant cities including: Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Whenzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan and Suzhou.
The site has also been adopted by global Chinese communities living in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Singapore and Malaysia, the company added.
Juwai.com, which said it currently has 1.3 million listings from 49 countries, originally launched in Australia as a beta (trial) site in December 2011, attracting initial interest from around 250 agents in Australia.
