An LJ Hooker agent has walked away with top honours for the second time at the 2012 Auctioneering Championships held recently in Canberra.
Jason Roses of LJ Hooker Tuggeranong won the Real Estate Institute of the ACT (REIACT) 2012 Auctioneering Championships.
“This award is always strongly contested,” said general manager of the REIACT, Penelope Lithgow.
“This year was no exception, with eight impressive nominees fighting it out to be named the ACT’s best auctioneer.”
Judges assess contenders on a number of criteria, including their ability to handle a scripted bidding scenario; auction documentation and processes; the property description; personal style and presence; and empathy and rapport with the potential buyers.
Jason performed strongly in all categories and when the hammer finally came down he was declared the winner.
“This is not the first time the judges have honoured Jason’s achievements as an auctioneer,” Ms Lithgow said. “He previously held the title of 2010 REIACT Auctioneer of the Year.”
Jason, along with the winner of the 2011 REIACT Auctioneer of the Year competition, Peter Walker of Peter Blackshaw Belconnen, will now represent the ACT at the Australasian Real Estate Institute’s Auctioneering Championship, to be held in Adelaide from 1 to 4 October 2012.
