Continuing the network’s rapid expansion, McGrath Estate Agents has announced two new office openings in NSW this week.
A new office in Kiama will broaden McGrath’s reach along the NSW South Coast, adding to the group’s growing presence in the Illawarra region since its opening in Wollongong in 2009 and, more recently, in the seaside town of Thirroul.
“We have been really pleased with the success of our offices in the Illawarra, so Kiama is a natural extension of our strategy in this important market,” McGrath chief executive John McGrath said.
“It will also create a link between the Wollongong and Bowral offices, allowing McGrath to better service not only the coastal areas of Kiama and Shellharbour but also the picturesque and popular inland communities of Berry, Kangaroo Valley and Jamberoo.”
Principal of McGrath Kiama, Marnie Beauchamp, a specialist in new development and waterfront properties, said the Kiama region’s proximity to Sydney and its scenic attractions make it a desirable area for a range of buyer groups.
“Home buyers in the region include locals who work nearby, investors looking for good capital growth, holiday makers who want a weekend getaway with the ability to lease it out when they are not using it, retirees who want to be close to the coast and farmers or individuals who would like a country retreat,” Ms Beauchamp said.
The diversity of home buyers in the region means the local knowledge and experience of Ms Beauchamp and fellow sales agents Angela Bennett, Craig Higbid Vicki Williams, Richard Bowen and Jade Bowen are set to benefit McGrath significantly.
“A lot of buyers attracted to the area are from out of town – especially Sydney and Canberra – but people from the Southern Highlands and even international buyers are also commonplace here,” Ms Beauchamp said.
“We believe that our clients will benefit greatly from the superior marketing, database and far‐reaching online presence of the McGrath brand, coupled with their outstanding reputation for six‐star customer service.”
Crows Nest on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, is the location of the second McGrath office opening, representing a move that will expand the group’s presence in a highly desirable area, according to Mr McGrath.
The new office will serve as a satellite to McGrath Lane Cove and will primarily focus on Crows Nest, St Leonards and Naremburn.
“We have already achieved great success in Crows Nest and its surrounding area,” Mr McGrath said.
“Spearheaded by our award winning agent, Peter Chauncy, the sales team will be able to better service clients and continue to break sales records in the area.”
Mr Chauncy, who was ranked number one agent in Real Estate Business’ Top 100 Agents list, has been an agent at McGrath Lane Cove where he broke the suburb record for sales both for a house and a semi in Naremburn. He will be co‐principal of McGrath Crows Nest along with Shane Smollen who also operates McGrath’s North Shore offices at Lane Cove, Lindfield and Pymble.
“It’s a dynamic region to work in as it appeals to all types of buyers, from urban professionals to young families and downsizers,” Mr Smollen said.
“Crows Nest and its surrounding areas have their own personality and an interesting demographic, coupled with long-term residents who have seen the area evolve into a lively cafe society and business hub.
“We have been highly involved in this cosmopolitan area for some years, so opening a dedicated office here is the next logical step. The McGrath brand, our well established team and this vibrant area make a great combination and we look forward to having a stronger presence in the area.”
