Real estate group Richardson & Wrench has opened a new office in Sydney’s outer west, the first of three new openings to be announced in the coming weeks.

The new Richardson & Wrench office, located in Penrith, will be headed by Catherine Matusewicz, an independent operator whose company Sydney Real Estate Online utilised online marketing for property and property management.

Richardson & Wrench executive director Andrew Cocks said Ms Matusewicz brought a bright, fresh perspective to real estate.

“The Richardson & Wrench network has been keen to have a presence in this territory for some time; however, we were prepared to wait until the right person came along to represent our network in this region,” said Mr Cocks.

“The Nepean is an area with huge potential, a growth region with a broad mix of housing and good prospects for future growth.”

The Penrith office opening comes just months after the group opened a new office in Narellan, in Sydney’s south west, and had a long-term northern Sydney-based independent agency – Mackinnons Estate Agents – join its ranks.

It marks the 13th office the group has opened since mid-2011, giving it around 100 offices, and continues its push into growth areas of NSW and Qld.

Mr Cocks told Real Estate Business in May that the group, which prided itself on being like a family, was careful in who it allowed into the network.

“We go through a fairly structured process to make sure there that not only are they happy with Richardson & Wrench and the model we provide them with, but that we’re happy with them,” he said.

R&W Group franchise director Peter Flynn said the Penrith office would be able to draw on the established strength and reputation of surrounding offices.

“Richardson & Wrench has a network of extremely strong offices in western Sydney, an area that is experiencing enormous growth and renewal,” said Mr Flynn. “It is also encouraging to have an office with the outstanding property management credentials that Catherine brings to the business.”

Richardson & Wrench Penrith, which will come with a substantial rent roll, will service the areas of Penrith, South Penrith, Jamison Town and North Penrith. Amongst her first listings under the R&W banner is a $1.7 million home in the luxury golfing residential estate of Twin Creeks.
