An online platform that allows real estate professionals to manage their social media through one property-focused service has been launched.
“Try and imagine a Facebook adapted just for the local property market, and you’re getting close to Housenet,” said founder Darren Moffatt, who developed the site in conjunction with web developer Ben Carew.
“We’ve built a platform that’s got everything agents need to succeed online: blogs, forums, profile pages, and an awesome property people directory. And crucially, users can save a lot of time by publishing their social media content to Facebook, Linked & Twitter from Housenet with just one click.”
“Our listings engine is pretty special too,” he continued. “Consumers can ‘follow’ their favourite agents, and because the whole platform is social, the property listings on Housenet are truly viral.”
Mr Moffat said the new site was developed after the Housenet management team asked agents what they needed.
“Over the last year or so we’ve met with dozens of agents and industry leaders to learn exactly what they want,” he said.
“The same issues kept coming up time and again: how do I manage all this social media? How can I attract more business online? And how do I ‘cut through’ with my listings?”
Mr Moffatt added that Housenet, which is free to join, can also be used as an internal office communication tool that could improve staff productivity.
“Housenet has an amazing instant messenger and chat room function which we think will be popular with multiple-office agencies,” he said. “You can set up private group live chats that are way better than email. It even has a virtual whiteboard.”
