When you think of art you don’t necessarily associate it with real estate, do you? Well, one award-winning photographer does.
This week the prestigious Sydney Life Prize was awarded to photographer Sally McInerney for her image ‘Shark in pool, Dover Heights’ which features a Ray White signboard with a shark fin added to the featured pool.
Her image was considered the most outstanding work in the selection of 22 finalists and she has been awarded a prize of $10,000.
More than 600 entries were submitted to this year's Sydney Life photographic competition, which runs as part of the Art & About Sydney festival.
The Ray White Group has strong ties with the art world. It is the major sponsor of the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Young Ambassador programme and it is currently selling one of Sydney’s most art décor homes in Bondi.
The competition rewards "authenticity" and celebrates examples of "unique and and iconic ways of seeing Sydney". The festival is in its 11th year.
