Domain has thrown its weight behind Real Estate Business’ inaugural Australian Real Estate Awards, securing the principal partnership for the 2013 event.

The Australian Real Estate Awards, which will take place in August next year, will recognise excellence across all facets of the real estate industry and will mark the industry’s first independent national awards program.

Real Estate Business editor Simon Parker said Domain’s support of the event affirmed the necessity for a national independent awards program which emphasised quality business and professionalism.

“The real estate industry is experiencing significant change right now and it is important to recognise the individuals and organisations that are driving the industry forward to higher levels of quality and professionalism," he said.

“The Australian Real Estate Awards are the only industry accolades open to the entire industry and the support of an organisation of such stature as Domain, clearly demonstrates the significance of the event.”

Tony Blamey, general manager of real estate at Fairfax Media, said Domain was proud to be part of an event which will recognise outstanding achievements across all corners of real estate.

“These awards will be an opportunity to recognise the many successes and outstanding achievements of our real estate colleagues in an often challenging environment, and we encourage all to get involved," he said.

Matt Siddons, marketing director of real estate at Fairfax, agreed with Mr Blamey.

“We are pleased to be the principal partner for the inaugural Australian Real Estate Awards, which will showcase best practice, performance and development from the masters and up-and-comers of the industry,” Mr Siddons said.

To be hosted in Sydney in August 2013, the Australian Real Estate Awards will be open to all Australian sales agents, property managers and principals as well as to the industry’s networks, franchise groups and independent operations.

Further detail about the awards and the nomination process will be released soon.
