Barry Plant Torquay has expanded, taking over a nearby franchise office to become what it said will be the area’s largest property management operation.
Glenn Hardman, director of Barry Plant Torquay, said the “strategic move” will see his office manage the surf coast’s largest property management portfolio.
Torquay is located 22 kilometres south of Geelong.
“The ... office [we acquired] will be shutting down, however the property manager and sales manager will be joining the Barry Plant team,” Mr Hardman said.
Mr Hardman operates the business with his wife, Kylie, director and sales consultant, opening the Barry Plant Torquay office four years ago.
“When we moved to Torquay we wanted to work under a major brand so we interviewed several companies, but decided that linking with Barry Plant ... was the one that would suit us best,” he said.
In addition to his real estate experience, Mr Hardman has a Bachelor of Business in Property from RMIT University, specialising in Agency and Marketing.
“[Mr Hardman’s] experience, qualifications and business acumen is obviously a fantastic asset to this company and his outstanding success and growth in Torquay, one of the state’s most desirable areas, is testament to his hard work and commitment to the Barry Plant brand,” Mike McCarthy, CEO at Barry Plant Group, said.
Barry Plant, which commenced operations 34 years ago, has around 80 offices. It was ranked fourth in Real Estate Business’ Top 20 Real Estate Groups ranking.
