Jobs on offer as WA grp gets serious about HR

A Western Australia-based group that’s targeting a national presence has established a human resources department at its Perth head office.

Crawford Property Group, which commenced operations in WA’s Pilbara region, recently opened the head office in Perth, as well as another office in Brisbane.

“The creation of the HR department underlines the importance that Crawford Property Group attaches to the management of our staff, which is our greatest resource,” said Ryan Crawford, group director of Crawford Property Group.

“We are a people driven company and one of the key reasons why Crawford Property Group has been so successful in recent years is due to our ability to attract and retain excellent staff who embrace our dynamic and success driven culture.”

The company, which specialises in the marketing of positively geared properties, has over 60 staff Australia-wide.

Crawford Property Group’s announcement comes shortly after specialist industry recruitment firm Gough Recruitment said more principals are setting up HR departments as part of efforts to retain and attract quality staff.

Peter Peard, of fellow WA-based group Peard Real Estate, told Real Estate Business recently that his group has had a HR department set up in its head office since it was established. “We’ll conduct, on average, four interviews a day for all sorts of different staff,” Mr Peard said earlier this year.

Mr Crawford said professionalism is paramount for his network.

“We believe the addition of a dedicated HR department will provide further opportunities to leverage off this uniquely positive culture, with direct and tangible effects flowing through to our customers," he said. “Our company is now investing time and resources into establishing this department with a difference, making sure it will play a key role in this future growth of our company.”

Mr Crawford said the new HR department, which will be managed by Becky Meyer, would offer traineeships to the next generation of real estate professionals.

“It will also build our brand presence as an employer of choice within the industry so we can attract highly motivated employees who want to build long term, rewarding careers within our group based on continual career progression and advancement,” he said.

Crawford Property Group said it has 11 immediate vacancies, ranging from medium to high level positions in sales and business development in Western Australia.
