The new general manager of a WA group is looking to expand the brand across the state.

John Coleman, chairman of the ACTON Group, announced the appointment of Craig Wildman as the new general manager in the company newsletter last week.

Speaking with Real Estate Business, Mr Wildman said he would love to spread the brand beyond Perth.

“I’d love to spread into northern WA like Broome, Karratha and around those sorts of areas," he said. "That would be fantastic."

ACTON has experienced incredible growth in the last few years, Mr Coleman claimed.

"We have undergone significant expansion in recent years, in particular opening four new offices in the past six months, and there are more exciting developments in the future," he said.

"Craig is a natural leader and already plays a key role in the development of ACTON through his involvement with our Marketing Committee, the ACTON Leadership Group and ACTON Auction Services.

“He is the joint owner of two successful offices, is an incredible salesperson in his own right, and is one of our leading auctioneers,” Mr Coleman concluded.

When looking to open a new office, Mr Wildman believes getting the location right is imperative.

“There’s got to be a certain turnover, and a certain demographic," he said. “But so long as there is good real estate and good potential for growth and investment, then we definitely want to be there,” he said.

As a property investor himself, Mr Wildman also believes agents and principals can benefit greatly from becoming involved in the market.

“I’ve developed properties, subdivided and all that sort of thing, which gives you a bit more knowledge," he continued. "I’m a very firm believer in practising what you preach. It’s like if you saw an accountant who hasn’t got any money or investments, and they want to tell you how to spend your money.”
