Agents based in the NSW north coast town of Kempsey have been put on notice by Fair Trading, with the state regulator set to unleash a "blitz" aimed at uncovering businesses flouting the law.
The government body has warned that more than 10 officers will be “blitzing the local community” next week, with Fair Trading Commissioner Rod Stowe also planning a visit.
“The Kempsey community can benefit from education seminars for local industry participants including motor dealers and repairers, real estate agents, landlords and home building tradespeople, as well as seniors, community workers and high school students,” Mr Stowe said.
“At the same time, compliance checks will be undertaken to ensure local traders are abiding by the law.”
The commissioner will be in Kempsey on Tuesday and Wednesday, attending a real estate information seminar at the Kempsey Macleay RSL Club on Tuesday, before visiting the Mid North Coast Financial Counselling Service.
